It is very hard to ride a three wheeler on the road. Plus your tires will bald very fast. It would still be very cool riding to the store on a 200x. Ofcoarse.. If the speed limit is 45, your gonna have cars getting very agitated cause My 200x tops out at like 30. haha Or.. Feels like 30. It prob does go faster.

Is that what they said? The manual does not say you cant have a live axle but if the Inspection Officer fells it is unsafe while driving it can be rejected, and thats for cars. Motorcycles do not use the same book. I just started looking into this so if thats what they told you I may not continue. But I have seen articles of a XL650 trike conversion on the streets in PA with a live axle.

swap a vin number on any frame and it can be street legal, dont mean its gonna fly in your area. I almost made my 200x and XL200r...but its a 350x now ;)

swap a vin number on any frame and it can be street legalI might not know much when it comes to the law, but that might just be a tad bit illegal?

we can get into a pissing match over this or we can drop it. Its no differernt if you put a CR500 motor in a atc250r...both got vins so what is it really then....to the person who knows nothing about either...end of story. close thread.

I don't know what's been said or deleted here, but I've always had an opinion of this subject.

I've yet to do it with a bike or trike, but many times I've mixed and matched parts between two trucks until you really couldn't tell which one retained the most of its original parts, thus blurring the line between which truck was which. Unless it's specifically addressed and written in law what percentage of what vehicle defines which one can be titled or tagged, it is open to interpretation. I'm not saying you can get away with registering a trike in every state by simply grafting a titled neck on there, but in some states it may just be that easy.

Multiple times I've referenced the two street legal trikes around here. One is an XR650L I think. The guy added a rear axle with two wheels, however he went about it. It had a live axle and was street registered in NH.

The other guy was right near my house. He had a CB750 that he had combined with his 350X, again a live axle, and it was titled and registered in MA. At what point does one bike become another? At least in MA, the law does not define that in any great detail. Don't ever assume something you're doing is out of line. Just look into what is legal and what's not and then quietly make your moves like you're not doing anything out of the ordinary. Before you know it, you'll be titled. I really need to do this, like really soon.
