You're fast. In 13 minutes, you left the computer, figured out the recoil, cleaned up your hands (recoils are usually dirty), came back to the site and posted that you fixed it. Not bad.

No kidding briano. I would have given up after 10 mins and then consulted a 12 pack until it fixed itself. LOL. Good work Colton.

Once again for the ones who don't know how to install the spring in a recoil. It is EASY!!!!!!

Yes, that is me in the video.
10 minutes? I could have installed, put it together installed it on the machine, washed up grabbed a beer and posted my reply. LOL
At TF07 -08 I took one off a machine tore it apart completely, put it back together and installed to show how simple they are to fix.

And howdy there is no way I could what that guy did in that video lol, I'm not that good  why I did was wrap it up a little than I put in on my work desk and I put my hand over it ( pushed down really hard) then just started wrapping it with my hand over it, it worked out pretty good but it still got on my nerves, I did try what that guy did in the video but my dx recoil casing is a lot higher than those others so its pretty hard to get my hands in there

nice video howdy, im glad someone is making videos to help people. got a different way of doing it if anyone wants to try. no offense but I find it easier. hold the middle of spring with fingers and thumb and pull the outside tight. when you have to wrap it around again hold the whole thing with fingers, grab the end, put it between your fingers and pull and you can release fingers while continuing to hold middle. sounds weird maybe ill make a video someday, either way the idea is to get it wound tight enough in your hand that it will fit in the area it goes and when you let go it will expand and seat itself. just figured id share

Don't call me King. captainweezy and many other members are probably better than me.
FYI, That pull starter is as deep or deeper than a yam225. It's a 82-85 atc110 ( deep dish style ). The old 90-110's and 185-200's are easier and take less time.

I think know the way your mentioning. It didn't work for me, but then I don't have full movement of my wrist / arms.
I tried many different methods and over 20 years ago I started doing them the way I showed above. I have had 100% success using this method.
