In my opinion and experience, the 350X front end is the best suited forks. The 3rd gen 250R forks are too long. 200X forks are not much better than the 250SX forks other than the addition of the hydraulic brake. I have put 350X front ends on two SXs and loved them. It rakes out the front end just a bit because your going fron a trailing axle to a leading axle. The only thing you have to do is slide the forks up in the triples about 1.5 inches to get the ride height right.

The other thing you'll have to do is add a steering stop to the front of the frame neck. Its welded to the front of the frame neck up about 1/2 inch up from the bottom. I have pre-cut steering stops I cut out on the waterjet at work. I'll send you what you need for 10 bucks. Are you going to mod both SXs or just one?

so you dont use the stock 250sx tree?...Im only planning on modding one..the other is gonna be the ol ladys bikeas far as trailing or leading axle I had an 85 200s and turned the axle around to see the difference and never noticed a thing..so couldnt it be tried with 200x forks?...im mostly pondering at the moment but i appreciate the help a lot!!

I have done the 200x swap and found it to make a considerable difference for desert riding... but it does lighten up the front of the bike quite a bit and make it much more apt to wheelie... they look a lot better with the 200x front end IMO but you loose some floatation in soft sand or mud

250sx has small diameter tubes so the larger 350/200x tubes wont fit the 250sx tree

I do remember a kit for these offered in the 80's that gave some decent travel and a weld on kit for the rear...I think Dirt Wheel featured the article
