People are STILL sueing over trikes, no wonder Honda doesn't want to even consider making threewheelers again.

HHmm,, you would think after all of the lawsuits and bad publicity trikes were getting back in the 80's her parents would have warned here ???
I rolled my trike once or twice over the years, and I havent thought about suing someone because of my stupidity.. If I could sue for any stupid thing I'd be very rich right now.
Ask the girl why she's not suing the jerk who lost control of the trike..

Your right that is sick. You can't tell me that they haven't heard that 3 wheelers flip over easy and all that B/S somewhere. They weren't made to carry more than one person, and If you ask me,she shouldn't have been a passenger. This is kinda like that lawsuit when a woman and her boyfriend were having a fight in a store, and she threw a 2-liter of coke at him it busted and went everywhere, and she slipped and fell and broke her back, and sued the store for an obsene amount of money.

It says she was the passenger. Why not sue the driver? Seems to me he'd have more culpability than Honda.

The driver has more responsiblity Tim, but less money.
That ain't right. Infact that's trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro up. Kinda like fat people for suing McDonalds because it made them fat. Wake up and walk, lardos. People make me sick.

all trikes are single person machines . all thouigh they made kiddie quads I think the law staes that you must be 16 to operate . It a shame that this happened ti this gal . But it was through her own negligance . Perhaps she would not have lost her balance and gotten thrown had she had her OWN set of foot pegs .

Honda's have no passengers clearly marked on their machines as well. I don't think she has much of a case, other than to sue the operator.

this will be another reason for everybody to stop you while your riding and give you a lecture about how "3 wheelers are unsafe that's why there banned".
For Gods sakes, they are talking about warning labels on a 1982 ATV. That's 20 years ago. For God sakes, the ATC is older than she is. I wonder if I buy a used 70's pinto and it gets hit from behind and explodes, can I sue Ford because there's no "risk of explosion from rear end colision" decal on the dash??????????
I HATE these damn professional engineers who testify about the design of a trike. I think they said the guy was a PROFESSOR of engineering. A damn liberal witness with his own agendas to prove. Who gives a damn if you prove they are unstable on paper?????????????????? lots of things can be proven unstable on paper. only bleeding hearts, ambulence chasing lawyers, and damned environmentalists care. people in the real world know it's the rider who'se in control. When are WE going to stand up and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
If I was Honda's Lawyers, I'd call person after person after person to the stand that have had 3wheelers since the 80s and safely operated them for over 20 years. I'm very sorry for what happened to that young girl and God forbid that ever happens agian. A tragedy yes. A sad accident. It could have happend on a quad or dirtbike. But they were riding double, obviously without safety gear. and they are children. I feel badly for the operator of the ATV also. Just think how the person feels, probably all the time thinking "man, if I wouldn't have tried to pop that wheelie, tried to go so fast, tried to go up that hill or off camber, tried to ride on two wheels, tried to turn too fast, or ANYTHING, then she wouldn't have gotten hurt." But that's the answer to the whole problem: "What should have I NOT done???"
Trikes should only be ridden by the very experienced. Not because they are dangerous, but because it would eliminate most if not all of the bad publicity. Look at what that fool Ozzy did for ATVs. There is just too much bad publicity.
Sorry to rant. To those people this is nothing but a get rich quick scheme. For those damn lawyers its nothing but a cash-cow. At the expense of the rest of us responsible ATV riders.
I can SAFELY ride a 3-wheeler and still have fun. Have for the last 21 years. I'm starting to wonder what the hell is wrong with me!! :D

What can you say?......
Law Schools are pumping out lawyers like no tomorrow. Forget about job prospects for them. The result is the mentality to blame everyone but yourself. I'm thinking about suing my highschool for me not being a millionaire by the time I was 30. I they had kept me in line, I would have solved the worlds problems. it's not my fualt.
This is the same reason why you can't ride anywhere, have 100 disclaimers in your car, get an account statement the includes every disclaimer under the sun, etc. This site should be aware that promoting the use of threewheelers can create liability. I would love to make a video, but won't because I don't want to expose myself to liability if some goofball tries something as a result of it and hurts himself.
This crap sucks, our legal system is out of control. EVERY time you can't ride somewhere, its because of an antiquated legal system the is built on prescident and other nonsense that fosters misjustice and inhibits imagination. The "I didn't know" offence sucks!!!....I didn't know that if I rode on an embankment, that it could cause me to rollover. I didn't know that my 8 year old child shouldn't ride a bike that can go 60 mph (do you let them drive your car?) If the land owner had placed "do not tresspass" signs, then I wouldn't have ridden on his property and hit that tree while I was speeding through the trail......it's not my fault. I should have been warned that the coffee is hot and can burn me. The music lyrics are bad and my son listened to them and was hypnotized into commiting suicide. I didn't know that underinflated tires can cause my Ford Exploder to have an accident. ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!! The something for nothing strategy is rediculous. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ACTIONS PEOPLE.
Fukn nonsense hurts all of us....Well it has some benefit,...when I was a kid we used to stand up in the front seat of the car holding on to the dashboard. If there was an accident, I'm sure that I would have been the first projectile in the car. However that is not the answer for the airbag child seat of today.
Whew ....Thanks, I feel better........

HA HA HA HA!!...I mean HO HO HO HO! What a rock! What do they expect the makers of these things to do? Put warnings on a pole lit with a neon sign on top right in your face so you can't see where you are going but you notice the warnings or what? My '81 185S has not one sticker/decal/engraving/tattoo/graffitti or whatever with any such information...Hmmm millionaire me. Don't tell those who skate off of rails, down stairs and fire escape ladders about this. I haven't heard of too many lawsuits when they break their face yet. "To be wise and old you must first be young and stupid" Words to live by if you take risks.
