Kidney belts are supposed to fit firmly correct???? if they just slide on i dont see how it would help.

Yes you are correct . Most have elastic and velcro .

They wrap around u and its up to u to make it tight. They do help with the jarring. I wear it most of the times I ride. I think it will give a little added protection of the lower spine in a crash too.

Yes they should fit very snug!! There is a vast range of quality/protection available. I sure feel better after a long ride with mine on.

I am not sure if the kidney belts are the same a the back belts made for lifting, but in graduate school we went over studies on them and they can tear up your guts.

Roofinggun, So its kind of like what the ladies used to wear back in the day....Corsets i believe??? the things they used to tighten up to tighten their stomachs....

That would be funny to see a 225 pound guy hauling ass down a trail with boots, pants, and one of those corsets over a t-shirt. But some studies showed problems with kidneys and urinary tract when used while lifting, not sure if riding would be the same effect.

Any belt recommendations? the axo looks kinda small - is it more comfortable?

Doc86R, I have the Oneal Matrix Kidney belt and couldnt be happier!!!!! great belt and very comfortable
