A bald eagle is one hell of an impressive creature. I got to witness one dive out of a tree and grab a 25 inch northern pike that I let go, it grabbed the fish about 20 to 25 feet from my boat. What an awesome experience.

Yes they are. I've seen one grab a fish, but not that close. Here in Minnesota they migrate to southern MN on the Mississippi where the water is open all year round. Supposed to be one of the largest groups of wintering Eagles in the U.S. We've gone down there a few times to check it out:

I got a vid of a baldy grabbing a pike off the ice this weekend! The eagles just returned to our area a couple days ago and the creeks are still froze solid.

They've really made a comeback in southeastern MN. We see one or more a couple times a week. 20 years ago you'd never see one. Here's one taking off from a tree; I took the pic while riding my 185s on the snowmobile trail at the bottom of southbranch about 5 miles from my house.

And a pic of the wheeler handlebars for good measure; right before I crossed the bridge over a stream.

A bald eagle is one hell of an impressive creature.
Whats immpressive is if there are Ravens or seagulls around, That eagle will lose its meal 100% of the time.
a little off topic but heres some pics of Owl markings from this winter.
Heres a couple bald eagle vids I took.
