I'm going to try and make some billet fork tube caps and need the tap for the cap size which is .307-32. The valve itself is .305-32, but I need the 307 tap. Just checking to see if anyone has one laying around before I hunt one down.

If no one comes up with one, try this:

Thanks for posting this, I'm always looking for places to get oddball tools.

Thanks Scoot, that was the only one I found and was hoping to not spend that much if someone had one laying around, but I may have no choice. Its a really oddball size and if you wanna play, you're gonna pay.

id be tempted to do a test hole and see how a 5/16-32 fit, but now that I think about it that .307 is probably a pipe tap:wondering

edit: oh yeah not a pipe tap i forgot its the cap, for some reason i was thinking of a grease fitting when i typed that

Thanks Howdy, I'll call those places tomorrow. ZZ, I've read that the 5/16 tap is just a bit too loose. Its a little over .007 bigger than the valve itself. I'm probably just going to have to pony up and pay $50+ for it and suck it up.

I read a couple of posts on other forums when I researched this and if I remember correctly 5/16-32 is too loose.
