View Full Version : 1983 250R Converted Into a 4 Wheeler!

I got this 3 wheeler the other day. I believe it's an 81 ATC 250r frame with a conversion kit on it! The welds look pretty professional and painted over? I can't tell if its got a kit on it or not! It's got an 83 engine I think.

I was just wondering if anyone knows anything about these conversion kits? When were they made? Do they still make them? What are they called? Is it worth anything?


I just traded it for a 350X. I was just wondering if it was anything special that I should have kept?

The kits were made by Astro back in the 80's, used lt250 front plastic and welded to the frame. Not anything special, you did good with a trade for the 350x.

Ok good, thanks. I pretty much saw it as a ruined 3 wheeler. I would have kept it if it was left as a 3 wheeler. It didn't run though. The crankshaft bearing would lock up every once and a while, then it locked up and wouldn't unlock, so I traded it for that 350x. Glad to know I got a good deal. Thanks!

Looks a little worn out and painted, you did good trading on the350x pending it's condition

It's an 86 with an 87 TRX250X motor on it. Runs perfect and has reverse!

Saw a 350x converted once wtf. anything with four wheels u should ride in not on. Lol great trade.

350X converted? Why destroy a nice 350X? Lol. I wish that 250r wasn't converted. But oh we'll, I got a 350X out of it.

I would say you got the good end of the deal, looks like a pretty nice I quess you could call it 250x lol, looks good
