i got a yamy 225 i dunno the year, or if its dr or dx, got it for 300 bucks, i saw her this summer, but they wanted 800 for it, and it was reving out in neutral just by a little touch of the throttle, a friend of mine from the same town bought it, and drove if for awhile, put a new coil on it, she worked better, but went back to crap, and now theres no power going to the coil, i am suspected pick up pulsar coil, but i am unsure, can anyone help? also have some pics of bike

Well, 1st off you have a DR..the difference between them is if it's equipped with reverse..

Second..if I understand your problem. It sounds more like a carb/throttle cable issue..you hit the throttle and the idle spikes up and sticks.

Possible throttle plate sticking, cable binding, or air leak issue..

Unless there is more information that you can give to clarify!!

well he told me he had the carb apart about a million times, the guy put a new coil on bc she was spiting and sputtery, when he did she was okay for a bit, and then went back to the same, and she stopped working

You'd be surprised of all the things a sticky/junked cable can do, it wouldn't even let me start my dx, because of the cable, I thought it was the carb too but it just was the cable, and it could be the ignition coil, because I had to replace my coil twice . Hope this helped it could even be what dougpcs said about the air leak

Good idea, I hate dealing with electrical problems, it might be a good idea to lube up that cable, because you never know how long its been sitting, good luck with it, there great machines
