250r new look

Started by putting the fenders back red. Wanted to know if a muffler off an 83 or 84 r would work for my 81 and is there any where I can get.decals for.this trike

Not gonna lie.. I hate the look of 81's.. do NOT like them at all, BUT I like yours lol. Is that the original tank, seat, and back plastics? 81's are not normally that lifted in the back are they? With that angle like a raptor is, and just my opinion but I think it would be cool if you cut it like a banshee is http://4wheelonline.com/atv/images/products/RearFendBlkCarbFib-MAIER-18957-30-p.jpg : in the back like that.

Yeah as far as I know it's all original. It's lifted in the back because it has 22 inch tire. So far all I did is put the fenders back red im still undecided if I want to make it look original again or something different.

Is there any parts from an 83 or 84 that will fit on my 81

Not all original looks like it has a 200x front end on it and the rear shock does not look right. The chain angle must be alot, look really high in the back. has got later 4x110 hubs already and silver rims. Looks like a decent start for a nice trike. First and 2nd gen R's share some stuff, The engine's are basicly the same, the shifter shaft is the only differance. You can run an 83-84 pipe if you run an open element air filter and ditch the air box. Would need better pics of your atc to see what is all been changed already. I love the first gen R's myself. They have a mean look and a ride all there own. Plus they where the first factory built racing three wheeler's. I am building an 81 for my wife to ride right now.

I do not know what that shock is off but is way to long for the machine. That is a 200x front end. They are great machines, lots of guys like the 200x front ends on them, I had one with one and now leave the fat fronts on them all.

Nice 81.I set my 81 250r up for flat track.Great machines.Codyrosa whats not to like about the 81-82 They are the first production 250r.Ohwell your loss.

I don't like the look of them that's all. I love 85's and 86's. They just remind me to much of a rigid, they don't have that sporty look about them. I've never ridden a 250r so I'm not saying I hate how they handle or there power.. nothing like that. Just there look.

For some reason everytime I start it it revs like the throttle is stuck but it's not and I can't find the problem. Please help

I love the 81-82's. I'm gathering parts to finish my 84.
