Our Appaloosa turned 32 this week and had a party

These are the pictures from our Appaloosa’s birthday party this past Sunday. His name is Flash and he is an April Fools baby. The other horses from the barn were there in attendance. We had a carrot cake, fresh carrots, and apples. Flash got a new blue lead and halter. Of course it would not be a birthday party without the hats and balloons.

Is this a normal life span for a horse? Can you still ride him or is he enjoying the retired life?

Not really. Apps especially rarely live this long. My son still rides him.

Do horses age like people or do they have like "dog years" kind of aging?

32 is very old for a horse. So not quite like dog years but not like human years either.

The hats covered up the horns. We could not release photographs of real unicorns now could we?
