Just picked this 2000 Scrambler 2x4 400L up today for $2678 from Bromeley's Motorcycles. I just walked in there during lunch to browse around and daydream and low and behold she was just sitting there, beckoning to me ...... Shes much improved from my 1996 Sport 400L - the concentric drive system, 8.5" of travel up front compared to 6.25" of the '96 and 10" of travel with the rear Fox shock compared to just 8.2" with the '96. The best part about her is that she already has most of the upgrades I spent nearly $1500 modding my old Sport with - FMF pipe, Boyesen Radvalve, 38mmTMX flatslider carb, clutch kit installed, Uni-filter. Those mods alone give her over 50HP (36HP stock). Let me tell you, shes a rocketship. The dealer threw in a new nose piece and a new chain and sprockets. Shes also fitted with a DG baja swingarm skid plate and a DG front bumper. I was able to talk them down from $2900 and other than it needing a reallly good cleaning and the plastics being pretty badly scratched up (but no cracks!), Id consider this a good deal. I sold my old '96 Sport back in 2001 and I've missed it ever since - now I have the new improved model.

SWEET. I want to get one of those machines as well. I've ridden a 400 xplorer with all the options, and that thing moves pretty well for weighing 650+ lbs. I can only imagine twice or so the power and 200 less pounds. The only thing I dis like about those machines is their high center of gravity and heavy weight. But I guess it's better to have a good sized machine behind you to move that quick though.

Ive got an 01 400 xplorer 4x4. Its pretty sweet, its the only sport utility that is a 2-stroke, and they stopped production in 02. For under $500 you can get them to 50+ HP. I picked up a pipe with silencer on ebay for $150 shipped ($270 pipe + $170 silencer). Claimed to add 8-10 HP with a rejet. Havent tried it yet, dont think the neighbors will appreciate that when im plowing my driveway at 5am.

i got a 2000 400 4x4 scrambler. i just bought the hpd race mod kit for it about 2 months ago. takes it from 36hp to 70hp. the hpd kit made it an animal. smokes banshees and raptors. keeps up with my friends quadzilla through 3rd gear. aside from the pipe it looks totally stock.
