Hello,

I buy and fix three Wheeler's all the time. I came across this three Wheeler that was much larger
than a 350x I bought it I never seen anything like it the tag says FL500 I researched more and found out that it was a 1983 ascott.

Now my question is this was there ever a kit made for a. conversion to a three Wheeler?
The front fender and rear fenders are both fiberglass. The rear swing arm looks factory made. This. Is not a hack job it looks like it rolled right off the assembly line.

Any help would be very helpful.

Thanks

Hello

Can you post photos so we don't have to click on the jpg limk to see them. You can link them to flicker etc.

Yes please a picture would be very helpful.. I tried searching for 1983 Ascott FL500 and nothing comes up. I saw an Ascott was a motorcycle and that was about it.

There is/was a member here that had an Ascot motor in a 350X frame. Think he lives in Canada. Forgot his handle. Here's some pics

The motor is an FT500 not FL500 - Sorry my fat fingers hit the wrong key :)

The tag I was referring to is the frame ID tag.

The entire frame is an ascot frame, the frame is a Backbone frame (No engine cradle the engine looks like it is hanging from the upper part of the frame) which is not good for off road use as there is no protection for the bottom of the engine – this will be one of the first things I will tackle , I was thinking of manufacturing an engine cradle with a skid plate, this will have to be removable incase the engine needs to be pulled.

I will take lots of pics, when I get home from work today, upload them to my photobucket account then post a link then you will be able to see what I am talking about

500cc ATC – this should be a fast one, oh yea the rear sprocket is a huge 60 tooth one

Here are 2 pics of the ATC that I saved to my phone from when the seller sent me some pics.

I will still take more detailed pics when i get home this afternoon.

My pics are of the FT500 motor.

Might want to look at some of the other XL/XR conversions here on the board. They are similar to yours, however your FT has an oil filter on the bottom of the engine and limits ground clearance.

I'm in the process of an XR500 conversion currently.

ok here are the additional pics.http://s732.photobucket.com/user/bharmon63/library/Ascot3Wheeler

If anyone knows please let me know. I will be selling this as soon as the carb is rebuilt and everything is working again - it looks like it has been sitting for a few years.

Thanks

No kits that I know of. Pretty nice conversion. Probably could still run it on the street with it already being plated if the reg was/is current. Nice work on the swingarm. Good luck with the sale.
