3 wheelers are few and far between here in the UK, making good ones go for strong money, money I dont have.

So I picked up this for £80, found in a barn

Now the savvy of you will notice the rear end isnt in the right place, probably the reason I was the only bidder

Got it home and started the strip down and noticed a few oddities

First off the axle was located 4.5 inches further back using these plates

Even odder was the chain idler with reducing gears

And its holder

This made the now two chains offset meaning this affair at the rear end

My question is, has anyone seen anything like this before? I've taken it all off now as I have no need for a low geared, stump puller, just means I have to buy a few parts.

Frame has gone off to the blasters now, so the rebuild can begin when it returns

Fantastic pickup.

I've never seen anything like that rear end setup.

Sounds like it will be a great trike when done!

I've also got an atc70 with a 90 engine in that I got for £25

Cool find. They are low gear'd as standard so I bet that setup made it ridiculously slow. I live in Wales and
Picked up a klt 200 a few weeks ago

WOW! thats a first for me, never seen anything like that. so with that set up it would travel at higher speeds? Thats an interesting extension for the rear end too. welcome to the boards too

also that 70 looks like fun :naughty:

Looks good bungle, certainley better than mine, but I like a challenge.

Jason, the gearing was setup lower than standard, i've not counted teeth, but I reckon it was geared down by half again, damn it must of been slow, but with the wheelbase extension I bet it couldn't half pull some stuff.

That little 70 will go anywhere, but it time for something bigger

Frames stripped and cleaned ready for blasting

I started on the axle metal work, knotted brush and a coat of paint is always a winner
