Well, the recent 250r teardown prompted me to get rolling on the shop in the basement. I was to the piont were i had to get some heavy stuff down there, and i am getting to old to be killing myself, so this was the logical solution!! Got the 6x6 galvanized box beam from my dad, 7/8" threaded rod from him also, nuts washers and small steal from work. 30 bucks on craigslist for the i beam. shoulda just bought new, have hours into cleaning off some heavy rust to save 60.00:rolleyes: 10 bucks for a bag of portland. Borrowed the trolley and chainfall from work. Burned a ton of 1/8th 7018 on this thing. stuff was lying open in my dads barn for years! burned awsome with the little miller152
Had fun building it thats for sure!! I got on a roll dropping stuff down, and decided to move the 80 gallon compessor. Its new, been sitting in the garage on the pallet for a year now. i strapped it to a dolley, tilted her back and all was good until i hit the front yard. I had my arms behind my back pulling it, and i could feel it starting to shift, i tried to turn and get a hand on it but it was too late, it went over and pinned my foot to the ground as i was twisting to leap out of the way. Jacked it up pretty good!! sprained the trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro out of it, couldnt walk on it for a few days. we'll see how it goes. What pissed me off more was i busted the pressure switch off!! there's a hundred bucks!!
My yard is pitched ever so slightly out from the house thats all it took. Sad part is i could have gotten help rather easy, plus my dads got a kabota right up the driveway:wondering didnt want to twist up the lawn:lol:
This thing is gonna be the tits though. It swings about 240 deg. gonna pour alittle pad i think! Just put the x up there to test it out. would have to remove the wheels to drop it down. Still got to paint it up!

few details. I cut the box beam to 15 feet, it is all of 4 foot under ground. close to 11 feet at the top, bottom of i beam is 8 feet from ground level, extends out 5 feet. bent the rod around the beam bolted through the 8" pour.

Looks great.
Ankle doesn't look too bad either.
Ya know the poor man's xray is a tuning fork.

or if you put it on a speaker with some screamin rock and roll and it
doesn't make your teeth float, it's probably not cracked.

Sorry you got hurt making the world a better place.
It does happen sometimes.

electric hoist would be sweet, but for the amount it will be used I'm not gonna drop the coin on an electric one. I got 40 bucks into it. Unless i find a steal on one it is not a priority. Gonna cost a few bucks to get the rest of the shop set up the way i want.

Looks awesome as always. Sucks about the ankle. I had a similar sprain back in highschool that took about three months to fully heal.
