Hello everybody. I have just joined and excited to get to know you guys. I just bought a 1984 Honda 200 m three wheeler. The plastic is in good shape but is faded really bad and has a bunch of like old dirt and stains from years of sitting. Does anyone have any good advice on cleaning and restoring it? I am trying to avoid painting if possible. I have tried to paint old plastic like that but it always bubbles up no matter how much i sand first. Any advice is very appreciated. Thanks. Rick

Hey there and welcome.
See if you can get the search key to work.
Easiest way to get tons of info in one click.

yeah, most folks regret painting.
That plastic is some sort of slippery but I've heard that superfine wetsanding is one way to go.

PLEASE don't quote me on that.
Best to see what hundreds of other have tried before you decide.

I think they look great covered in mud.
Hides the flaws, but that's just me.

Have fun and again, welcome.

Hello Godrick74

Here's another link to polishing posted by another member that I came across as well. It came out looking very nice in the photos. Compare the links and photos and use which ever you think is best for you. Both will improve on what you have if done properly.

The description of how the parts were polished is in post 18 followed by comparison photos in subsequent posts with the last photo in post 33. In my opinion from what I can see with the available lighting is that it has a very high quality finish which the poster mentioned was achieved after many hours of work.
