Alright well im buying a part for my 83 200x..
The part i am buying is the kickstarter drive gear, it's the gear on the end of the main shaft in the transmission
Basically, what i know is that 83s are different than the other years so i have to get the exact year.
I found a part but i think either the title is labeled wrong or the person doesn't know.
The kickstarter drive gear
shown here

for 83s is supposed to have 15 teeth.
and for 84-87 it's supposed to have 14.
Now i found this add on ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-NOS-new-starter-gear-transmission-engine-1984-ATC200X-atv-ATC200-ATC-200X-/181148720896?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a2d4e1f00&vxp=mtr
It's labeled as a 1984 gear...but i see it has 15 teeth like the 83s supposed to have.
Do you think they miss labeled this? or am i missing something..

It has 15 teeth. So i guess it should work. Probably just labeled wrong.

Maybe there is a size difference, but i doubt thats the case. A lot of people inexperienced with these machines really do not know what they have. And judging by the bag it shows its in it seems to me it could of easily been misidentified if your not familiar with these parts or bikes. Then again ive had a few beers in me and i could just be rambling on.

I see where you're coming from...there's only 2 sizes of those gears and thats 14 tooth and 15 tooth...that i know of...that's why i was hoping someone with a little more knowledge would post here..since the ebay purchase would be no refund. And he has it labeled a 1984 which isn't possible which says he doesn't know much.

If its not listed for a high price (i dont know what they go for), i would get it. If it does not work, post it on here, eventually someone will buy it and youll have your money back.
