Thanks!! :) She set me back 1800...I don't "think" i paid too much, or did I? I did look around, actually hundreds of miles from
me, and for what i saw and the prices, i'm thinking i got a decent deal. She needs some cosmetics, but fires right up and runs
like a raped ape!

It just makes me cringe seeing what people are getting for these old bikes these days! I bought an '85 350x new and paid $2300 with tax back then... now, you can't hardly touch a decent one for nearly the same amount and a cherry mint one is double that! I still have an '85 but it's not the one I bought new. I also have parts for an 85 250r, but not enough left to build a whole bike. I have a stocker that I rode trails with and when something broke I ripped it off the race bike, since they were no longer allowed at any of the local tracks. Then I sold the stocker....

Yea, it makes me cringe too! I knew i was fairly close to paying what they were new. My '83 Big Red was $1500 new, so i kinda knew the 350x was a few bucks more. The almost mint one i looked at near home, the dude was asking $2875!!! I offered him $2300 and didn't get it. But, i'm fine with that, spending $1800 gives me wiggle room to make the one i got even better! :)

Just think though, if u got a nice one and decide to sell it, you'll be the one getting top dollar! I plan on keeping mine.

that is a very nice bike.i tell ya man every time go to look at one i always give myself a top dollar amount before i get there and i always end up tossing that out the window as soon as i see a bike i want.ive finally learned to control myself when it comes to most bikes but if its a 70cc or anything with a clutch i will probably end up leaving broke(everytime).my buddy says i get this strange look when i get around a bike i want, lol.i always get a feeling that if i dont buy it rightnow then ill never have a chance again.i dont ever get them in the condition of yours though because i usually dont have that kind of cash to spare.its amazing what 25 dollars in paint a little polishing can do for one.

I see you have what it takes to love the 3 wheeled machine.
And I do know about a little wet sanding and polishing myself.
Money is not the factor, its what u see in the in what trailprotrailpro buying...what can I do with it, how can I
make it better...its all in thoughts...imagination of what u want in the end. Thanks for trailprotrailpro post and trailprotrailpro pics!

I here ya man.I like mine to have mostly factory looking but I like to ad some touches of my own.that white headlight I actually found on eBay.I wasn't sure how it was gonna look bit I didn't care because I needed it.most headlight assemblies go for 100 to 150 on eBay but I watched this one for 4 days and won it at 61 bucks and got the rear rims and tires for 98.I've never got that lucky on eBay.the headlight looks really badass to me and I was fortunate to have a headlightguard too.I now have 4 complete 350's and enough parts to build another but I only have two complete headlights assemblies.I have another but one lens is busted and they are pricey too.out of the four though only one will run and its the latest one I got and it needs serious help in the engine department.it starts with one kick(how I don't know) but it had a rattle so I checked the valves and absolutely couldn't believe it ran at all.had to have been atleast an1/8 in of play in them and on top of that the timing chain you can here over the motor.the white one is just sitting there and wont run right.I'm in serious need of some carbs because the one I've been testing them with is junk I finally realized.weird thing is the Carb off the running bike wont run my white one very good at all.I have a full exhaust on it and tried a 138 and then 142 and neither worked good.its a brand new crate motor and everything's into spec.my supposed big bore has same issues.I'm on the lookout for some 400 carbs in good shape.

I like your 200 too.around here you can get sportbikes cheaper than those 200bigreds.I have a good 250 but I'd really like to have a 200 to play in the mud with.I love blowing ATV guys mind going everywhere and through every mud hole they do on my little 200s.may take me a little longer but ill make it.last trip I went on everybody messed with me and made fun of my 200 and by the time the day was over everybody wanted one,LOL.

Man, I tell ya, Big Reds are the bomb when it comes to mudding and snow. The 200cc power is plenty for all of that. When i
lived in Pa, that's mostly what i did when riding it. It's been a blast and being the original owner i think i'll hold onto it for a
while longer.
