Hey guys just wondering what issues i would run into trying to put 350x headlight setup on my 86 250r? Is there a year that will work with minor moding or a direct swap?

I put em on my sx with just a lil bit of solder & some spare connectors from an already hacked up wiring harness.... and they are bright as hell on the sx.. I've seen em on a couple of r's also

Take three crimp spade connectors that will plug right into the stock plug on the bike so you don't have to cut any wires, crimp two wires into each spade connector with the same type of crimp connector as the stock 350x light at each end.....plug it all up and its done....piece of cake.

Here is mine..

Thanks...put a lot of work into it. I finally replaced the rear fenders and rear tires....could not stand the fenders cut like that.

Rappy that is an awesome explanation! thanks for putting that out there. I did go pick up my buddies bike last night because im putting a 38mm carb and some other goodies on it for Trikefest. It turns out he is missing a pigtail I guess, i havent torn into it yet but only one light is plugged up with a socket. I need to look around and see if there is something i can do about finding another pigtail

I thought there is only one socket on the 250R harness because OEM is one light? Think thats why Rappy (edit ) said to put two wires in the conectors plugging into the socket. Could be wrong.....

ya thats what the connectors are for to split it, but theres a pigtail that actually plugs into the light housing that the bulbs snap into that has wires coming off it. Thats the 'pigtail' im thinking of. I am going to look at it tonight though to confirm

ahhh okay got it. I was thinking there was a wire coming off of the 250r light that just plugged into that socket that on the harness. My lights are all "deleted" and i'm still pretty fresh dealing with a 250. But I love learning about them!!!

The wiring harness should have a three position female plug on it that plugs directly into the bulb held in with a backing ring on the stock light, the 350x headlight has sockets that plug into each bulb housing to hold the bulb in with three wires comming from them which you will plug into the pigtails with the spade connectors.
