I found a guy in my area parting out a 83 250r. I just called him to get a basic price list, he wants 100 for the forks (no tripple trees or wheel, just the tubes) and 50 for the carb, which are the 2 parts i need for my 84. What do you guys think? I this a good deal or is he asking too much for them? Pics here http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/mcy/3846846780.html

It depends how bad you need them and how fast you want them. I'm sure you could find better deals but it's local and sometimes it's worth a little more to inspect what you are buying rather than looking at pics online. I would still try to beat him up a little on the price though.

I couldn't agree more.

Yeah, thats kinda how i felt too. My 84 is ridable, but my carb has a temporary fix on it, see my other thread "carb stuck open" and my left fork is bent at the lower triple tree, is still sound to ride with

Even if i buy the forks, im going to have to spend another 150 or so to rebuild them, and then about 30 to rebuild the carb... Not sure if its really worth it right now. I may wait until this winter, when i plan on stripping the trike down and powdercoating the frame, re painting the tank, and swapping to a fresh motor i have on the shelf.
