Do the baskets and covers usually stay in good shape? Or are they prone to warping? One of my 85's has an iffy clutch that chatters alot on take off.....

Hello

Could be a few different things after 25 years. I suggest you take it apart and inspect it however the first thing I would do is make sure it has gear box oil designed for wet clutches and install some not and if that doesn't improve it then it is most likely the discs. Run OEM or Barnetts however I don't know if the Barnett's squeal or chatter. They occasionally had some minor chatter when new.
