Hello I'm new to the forums and in need of some advice. I'm a bit of a old Honda fan it started with Honda Enduro bikes and now has evolved into Honda 3 wheeler. I recently bought my first 3 wheeler 1985 Honda 250 sx its nice clean even has a title. Its fun in the muddy stuff but now im wanting something faster so i have been looking at 250r's i have never owned a 2 stroke anything so i have been wanting one for awhile. After doing some research i found out the most popular ones are the 85-86 models being water cooled and faster. well with a small 1000 grand budget i just havent been able to find a decent one cheap enough for me in the last month or so. Anyways this is the best 250r i have been able to find within 200 miles that i can afford.

so is 1grand too high - right on - great steal on this bike

Hey there and welcome aboard! :beer

If you are saying that the price on that second gen is 1000 or under, I would have no qualms about paying that. Looks like a solid, and pretty well refurbished machine. Prices/value does vary greatly from region to region. In my area, I would see a trike like that priced closer to 2000. I have just recently seen a couple of pretty solid 2nd gens for a little over 2000.....

Hey Erock86, I would love to own a second Generation 250R. Mine are all water coolers. I found that you can usually find the 885,86 R's better and easier in the winter months and at lower prices. I would snatch that up if you want a go fast fun ride for the rest of summer, but save about the same money and get an 85,86 if that's what you really want. Welcome aboard and Where is Poplar Bluff Mo?

Follow up on the buy.
Went and got the bike yesterday. Had a few concerns when i got there one it wasn't idling right but with a few turns on the carb screw that was fixed and oil leaking out of the muffler just alittle(he sad it was because he traded for the bike over a year ago and hasn't even put a tank of gas in its only been started a hand full of times and that it should clear out) i wasn't sure because this is my first 2 stroke but i went with it and after a wild drive home (driving through a tornado in Dupo IL) and riding this thing i have have fell in love. The Most fun i have ever had on gravel roads. And yes since yesterday after driving it all day and night i haven't see not a drop of oil leak out of the muffler i even parked it on the concrete overnight to make sure. it also did smoke alot more then i thought it should at first but once i got fresh gas/oil in it and ran it a few hours that seemed to fix it. i mixed the gas 32:1. Anyways i have a few pics to show her off alittle.
