I am going to add +2 to one of my extra stock swingers...any tips? I have my own tig welder but I might pay a shop to do it so I don't just turn this swing arm into scrap trying to do it. Any Minnesotans know a good shop or welder? Or can anyone on here do it themselves or does anyone have any tips who have done it themselves ?
Thanks
Zach

Don't know how much of a hurry you are in...but these guys do a lot of swinger extensions, I have known of a lot of raptors they have done. I was quoted $325 shipped for a raptor +6 to give you a price idea....don't know if that is what you were looking for, but here is his facebook page if you want to contact.

what bike are you workin on? some bikes youre much better off buying an aftermarket extended swinger or having one made, and other bikes are easy to extend the swingers. for example, for 81-84 250R you'd be better off finding an aftermarket swinger or having one made. if its a 200x, 350x, or 85/86 250r, the design of the swinger makes it pretty easy to extend the swinger and make it look pretty clean. cant really speak for tecate or tri z as i havent seen any backyard creations from those bikes.

If you do cut the swinger to extend it, dont cut it at a 90 degree angle. Cut it at a 30- 40 degree angle. This will make it much stronger after its properly welded. Ivw seen them break off when not done rite. If you know how to use that tig, your in. Thats the best welder you could use. Precise cuts are a must. No gaps prior to welding. Good luck.

just courious.why are you extending your swingarm?if you cant find a extended one you should buy another 200x swingarm and do the welding on it.i dont know what kind of riding yo do but you may be dissapointed in a extended setup.i had a 85 with a plus six swinger and i hated it.if you want to goin a strait line real fast hen there perfect but if you wanna pop some wheelies and have good steering its best to leave them alone.
