I have a 78 atc 90 and I was going to try and clean the oil filter screen but I cant get any of the screws out. Ive tried an impact driver but it just strips out the screw heads. Any ideas? Maybe some heat?

take a dremel with a cut off wheel and make a slot for a flathead screwdriver.be careful not to cut too deep though or youll break some of it off when trying to remove it.ive had very good luck using this method then just replace the screws.if the impact screwdriver wont cut it then theres a good chance their gonna break anyway so just give it a shot and see.

sometimes if theres enough room ill grab'em with some vice grips and give'em a crank.tighten the grips until its really hard to close them and it works pretty good also.

you sure you had the impact wrench rolled up on the correct side of the cam?
Is it an impact wrench that you turn and smack with a hammer?
I have a couple that refuse to operate correctly.
Make sure it works with some drywall screws in a piece of wood

I have always had good luck with my impact on these, i have one that also lets you snap on sockets besides the normal bits.

Thats not mine but an example of what i have. As mentioned you have to make sure you have it set right before hitting it. Otherwise the dremel method is the way to go! If you don't have a dremel a hammer and chisel or a compact hacksaw will do it. A dremel is a heck of a lot easier though... LOL
The last one i had issues with, a 125, after i got them all out i bought some replacements that have a small hex head on them, takes an 8mm socket i believe, that was worth the time to sit and dig them out of the bolt bins at the local farm supply.
