alright guys, I am thinking about buying a 1983? Yamaha 200. The guy says there is something wrong with the clutch, and the rear tire goes flat. He says it runs great, and still drives, but it doesnt get up and go like it should, he says its a problem with the clutch, but im not sure, what do you guys think it is?

There are two clutches. One or both could need repairs. Depending on how deep you want to get into freshening them up you could spend from $50 to $500. It might even just be an adjustment that is needed. If you arent at least a little mechanicaly inclined don't buy it.
Wish I could help you with the rear tire, but I've never seen one do that before.

well, i could work with it, or have the old man do it as well, as he was a motorcycle, marine and auto mechanic, so i think hes got his stuff together lol

Brush up on how both clutches work and how to adjust them, ride the bike and diagnose the problem to the best of your ability or let the old man do it, and make your decision.

The most common clutch that needs replaced on yammys is the centrifugal clutch. You'll always hear people replacing those. I have to replace mine sometime in the future too
