1981 ATC110 rear brake question

Hi,

I picked up an 81 ATC110 whic was missing the rear brake pedal and fixings. I managed to find the missing parts and spent today fitting them however the rear wheels bind up if I roll the bike more the 3 or 4 foot.

I've tried adjusting the position of the spinal before fitting the brake pedal along with adjusting the slotted plate that sits to the left or behind it. It still binds up totally and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.


Anybody have any ideas??

Have you removed the rear drum to look at the shoes? Sounds like maybe the friction material may have fallen off the shoes and is binding up your brakes..

Will it free up if you roll it backwards? That is the usual sign of this..

I second dougs suggestion... I have had that happen with separated shoes.

If i remove the brake pedal assembly it rolls freely.
