1985 Honda Big Red 250es

I have a 85 big red 250es and I just bought a gasket for the gas tank cap, and i put in on but it is refusing to let air inside so it bogs out and dies. After it dies I unscrew the cap and it sucks air in really fast. Anyone be able to help me?

Same gas cap as the SX. Order a new cap. The assembly in the cap that has the vent is corroded shut. No way to repair it. A new cap is about 40.00 from Service Honda. Get a new cap while they are still available.
