What do you guys think the best pickup brand is? I personally believe its mopar or no car, and im pretty diehard for dodge. I like ford, a lot of people like chevy, but personally, around here, they seem to have the most problems, like rust, and in general just breaking down. what do you guys think?

I think you are trying to pick a fight LOL.

But for my needs it is hard to beat my LWB 82 S-10 it gets 28mpg and i can load my trike behind the tool box and still close the tail gate. Not to mention the thing sits low to the ground so i can load my trike w/o having to use ramps.

These days I kinda like the 99-07 Ford Super Dutys, The Cummins equipped Dodges are extremely popular tho. For vintage Id like a mid 80s Yota or Nissan hardbody.

mopar all day everyday. had 318s 360s gonna get a hemi next, cummis are just over priced and 75% of people dont need the. ill take a hemi all day after driving one, handles like my lowered civic and moved nicer then my 360.

i dont like toyota or other brands they just dont look like trucks. Im oldskool and in my world merica only has 3 brands, ford chevy and dodge.

My brother just bought a 06 I think? Ford F-250 ext cab and its awesome! But the thing is I don't know if its just me or do fords like to rust ALOT? Because my brother had 2 other fords a 96 f-150 and a 00 f-150 and both of them became a pile of rust. The doors rusted the beds rusted out, the frame rusted the fenders rusted but they do have strong motors in them. His 96 had over 200000 miles and it was still running good. But if I would get a truck id get a mid-late 90's dodge cummins turboed diesel! They run great and look pretty bada$$ :D

That it would be, just my opinion though :) They were still sold in 99 badged as "classic"

UGGGGG!!! You started it, I'm sure this will turn into import vs domestic war. :)

I had a Dodge Hemi and really didn't care for it. It sounded bad ass but was a total gas pig. Now I have an FJ Cruiser (not exactly a pickup), but it's a truck to me and fits my needs perfectly. I load it up with a crew of five and my trailer can haul 3-4 three wheelers.

It's also a bit of a pig, but not nearly as bad as the Dodge was. It's one of the very few vehicles that you can still get with a manual transmission. It's also one of the very few off road worthy vehicles made today, comes with lockers right from the factory. I'm pretty sure neither Ford, Dodge, nor Chevy offers anything with lockers. You can probably get a Jeep with lockers but your gonna need to change the axles if you want to get serious with them. Range Rover also has a very good off road reputation (comes with lockers too), but they are way too high maintenance for me and they have a reputation of being in the shop a lot.

Anyhow, no disrespect to the big three, but I'm a Toyota guy. They make AWESOME engines and their trucks are made to last. I couldn't be happier. I do like the old-school trucks, would absolutely LOVE to go topless in a Bronco from the 60's with the back seats removed and my 350X in the back. WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!

Cheers!

The best truck has low miles, was maintained, and is paid for..................

All companies make duds and lemons. Most has to do with personal taste.

If you want a truck to haul stuff and get fuel economy then a low 2wd is for you.
Want to off road, then you will loose fuel economy to turn big tires and 4wd.
Big loss is from height.

Many blast a vehicle for being junk when they have a worn out pile that was never taken care of.
Seen many with blown mechanics for no service was even done or they abused it.
Rusted thru from salt bad weather and not washing or undercoating ect.

All also have inherent issues at certain years.
Try finding a 90s dodge, ford, or chevy that has good paint. Most all peel off from the metal.
The big 3 had new paints and metals to work out most due to changing markets and epa on paint ect.
Any 80s era in salt and cold that is not rusty.
Any with 200,000 plus that do not rattle or have some issue that were work trucks.

if your buying a V8 no one should be concerned if its a pig. This is already known to assume 10mpg lol.

Yes, every pickup brand has its flaws, Dodge had the bad trannys that got fixed now, Chevy was rusty as hell, and had problems with throttle bodies. Ford had its problems too, it all depends on where you live, and what you personally like, i think, and to me, dodge has been the key in Northern MN

I've owned GMC, Ford, and Dodge 1/2 tonnes. My most recent is a 2010 Ram 1500 4X4 HEMI and I love the styling, power, comfort, and handling. I have not had one single problem with it either. Just my humble opinion. Ed O

80s and 90s style chevys. Hate fords, we had a 01 F350 for about 10 years.. got it with less than 100k.. we put more money into that thing than most vehicles are worth now a days. Had to replace HOLE front end, rebuild transmission 3 times in 1 year, electronics, computer, we sold it with no brake lights, taillight, had 1 blinker in back and 1 up front lol.. Fords suck I hate them! Drove a dodge once, comfortable ride and quite a lot of acceleration. Wasn't bad at all.

I've always been sided with Chevy's. Why? Just grew up with them and never really had many issues.
