so I picked up this swing arm this weekend from my local cycle salvage... it was next to what appeared to be a aftermarket frame. can any one identify this swing arm or is it completely home made... I know it has been modded from what it was originally. mounting points for the rear shock have been removed and added/relocated, some tubing was cut off the rear. I have no idea what axel it takes... there was a 125cc motor laying next to it. I didn't get any pics of the frame but its still there im sure...

Try that.
If that's homemade they did a damn good job. Hard tho see in the pics but looks pretty professional.

thankyou,,, I pm'ed him.... the pivot has needle bearing in it. the shock mount looks to have been removed from just in front of the and on top of the carrier, to about the middle of the carrier and further in front. also another mount even further forward that you can see in the side pic... some of it looks like a complete professional job,,, others you can tell were hacked in... ill get more pics today if I have time to stop in at my buddies house where the "builder bike" is

I'm no expert, but it all looks home made to me. Too bad you didn't include pics of the frame that swingarm was by.

That swinger is probably not worth much without the frame, if it's even the frame that fits that swinger. The swinger could be aftermarketand maybe even fit a 185s, but why chop it up to use the 90/110 rear bearing bits? Beats me!? Interesting though. Get your butt back there and check that frame out and get it. Ugly weld though. Really hard to tell anything with that swinger being cobble together like that. Still kinda cool though.

I snagged the swing arm for my suspended atc70 "builder bike" project. "see thread http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/160128-my-fully-suspended-atc70-project also... it is the perfect size, length and width. but I will go out there and snag the frame next time im out there,,,, which should be tomorrow. I am not sure what rear axle fits it if you could lend some input on this , that would be greatly appreciated...

The only 2 suspension 70 frame makers that I know of, I have an example of each one. The A+ and the PK Racing. I have pics on here of both if you look. Neither of those frames use the 90/110 rear bearing carriers or bits. Good luck with your build though, either way.

the frame was definitely for a larger motor, it had the motor mount on the front like my 110 joker, same basic rear frame design as a joker but different slightly, neck and tank area tubing was different though, seat latch was completely different also.... long rod all the way to the rear of the frame. they had chopped the neck and brought in the rake, added a lower plate to the frame and mounted the foot pegs to it... there was a cdi125 motor, a box of misc. parts, the frame and the swinger. no axle or frontend... apparently "they said" it had front suspension on it but the P.O. kept it... ill snag it up next time im out there.

wasn't the A+ a conversion on the xr70 dirt bike? and im not familure with the pk... I looked over your thread with all the after market stuff posted...very impressive... I like the ones with front suspension the most I want to add front suspension to my joker frame... any advice there???

174343174344174345174346174347174348174349Some pics of my 2 suspension 70 frames. The PK has a lifan 125 engine in it right now in my living room! LOL the A+ is at my buddys' house, blue27, a member on here who is putting a works rear shock on it right now. The A+ has a lifan140 and front and rear disc brakes and a few other little frame mods to build up the engine mounts, which was the weak point on the A+ frames. Far as suspension on the 90/110 frames, there were tons of options. How crazy do you want to get. A
185s/200s front suspension will bolt right on if you want factory and a drum brake. There were many aftermarket bolt on front suspension kits starting with the rutt ryder and getting way more sophisticated. Then there are board member who can hook you up with bolt on an 81/82 atc 250r front end if you go to all the trouble of getting all the bits and pieces and rebuilding everything, but you will still keep the wide front tire look and have the added disc brake, but to keep the front wheel the 3x100 bolt pattern you have to use the 81 atc250r hub and to keep the 4x130 bolt pattern you have to use the 82 atc250r front hub. All depends on your budget, abilities and your amount of craziness! LOL

Taz, after re-thinking, you're probably right. Makes me sad to think about it though. Almost sounds like a suspension kit on a 185s frame. How sad.

Quit dragging your feet! LOL It actually shouldn't be hard to have another swingarm made for the frame, but may cost a couple $$$. I know a guy in Pa, Mike at HRE who does really nice work. Has made some Tiger parts for me, made me a real nice Nicholson rear bearing carrier with the disc brake mount too. He could make you a swing arm for sure.
