I remember seeing that for sale locally in Arizona a few years back. I think the price was in the 3000-3500 range at the time. Someone is going to get a gem!

Was the white writing on the bottom of the motor original? I thought they did that on motors that went to schools when they banned these bikes?

theyre assembly line marks...my one owner 250sx has them all over it...even on the hoses!

Larry is correct. My all original 86 350X has them as well if you look through the holes in the skid plate. Its like a silver-white color paint-pen or something. Some of them only had one or two letters or numbers. Some of them seem to have more. I'm not sure what means what yet. I've been trying to collect images and see if any of the marks repeat perhaps indicating a particular individual's ID code or denoting a process had been tested/completed.

Buy it now is a good going price, well worth what he is asking IMO. Very nice 350X, I always preferred the 86 model.

I am tempted to pull the trigger on this 350X since this is probably one of the nicest ones I will find unless I happen to stumble across a new one. He doesn't have a title for it which is a bummer. I wish it was an 86 250R, it would be sold!

I agree 5k for that is well worth it, most people on here spend that kind of money making projects into riders without realizing it! Nice X

VERY nice machine! I'd buy it at $4,900 but the wife would kill me :)

Wow! That's the nicest original Ive seen. I couldn't have something like that and not ride it. Especially when I was about 15 years old! :)

I'd love to buy it. But, I have no place to store a machine that clean, and I don't have that cash upfront. Very sweet ride though. I just had to post it up.

Hell,,, I'm 48 and I could never resist the temptation. "awwww,,,, just a short little ride,,,, opps looks like mud... hey a jump,,,, woohooo!!!" I have some really sweet parts that came off my X that I took off just because I know they will get ruined as soon as I ride it.

Anyhow,,,, someone is going to have a hell of a nice bike sitting in their garage.

Yea, that is a very nice machine but I would disappoint a lot of people by riding it every chance I got! lol

Id rather see it rode than stuck in someones garage or in a house as a conversation piece...Hell the guy who bought the rare blue cuda convertible drove it home from barrett jackson...its only new once and that was in 86

outside the box stuff here, but, i wonder what movie it was that the trike was purchased for. would that change the value? it would with a car, definitely. like cars elvis rode in, or used in bullet, or dirty harry. if there were docs to prove this trike was used in a big time movie set, would that change the value? what was the biggest movie in 86? probably top gun. bad example because cruise is a d-bag, but, i think you get what i mean. anyway, awesome trike.

I don't think it was in a movie...I thought he said it was used to get to the remote location of the movie set.

right, agreed. but does it change anything? say it was platoon? does it make a difference? if you had the trike showcased in your house, or museum/garage and your buddies came over, wouln't it be cool to say, "that bike was on the set of platoon." if so, does it affect the value? if not, what if it was in a movie? what if you could prove you had the tears for fears trikes from the video? value go up? i think so. what do you think?

owning a nice trike is not cheap anymore these days. ive exceeding the $5,000 mark building my 200x. however nothing stock. It's a nice bike. But unless your never gonna ride it and store it correct not sure if its worth it with out a title.

I'll check mine to see if tit has those marks..but I agree...that is $4900 that will likely be worth more in 5 to 10 years...so its a good investment if you intent to just let it sit in a climate controlled environment.

I got this one for $2,500 and I did some light resto, touch up on it. Its not as nice..but close... (the only thing I see on this one is that it still has the red lines on the tires):

...But since I did some touch up its never 'totally original'..... so this one is worth it for $4900. To the die hard ATC fan...the price will ONLY go up!

The big question is if it is worth $4900, then why hasn't it been snatched up yet??? These things used to go like hot cakes when they were listed. I do think it is worth the money but not having the title sucks if you plan on collecting it!

It's a real nice bike but I think it has had some resto work done on it. The exhaust would not have that finish when it was new. That looks like rattle can header paint to me.

Right on the money. It's a "buyers " market. That has had exhaust paint, but it is nice and should have been gone at that price.

In my humble opinion, it's worth every cent of $4900 (if it has all the paperwork) because it appears to be clean and original. If I didn't have my Tecate, I would have bought it, and rode it in parades and some very light trails.

That's just me.

Just for the sake of discussion, I know where an 86 ATC 250r is for sale for $4,200 and if the description and pics are legit, it's in better shape then this 350x. I haven't posted a link on here cause I plan to snatch it up soon, if it's legit. It's on Craigslist in an area that no one would pay the price cause these things just aren't popular there.
