Does it go into netrual while shifting when it's not running?
When shifting from 1 gear to another does it want to jump? Engine running, holding the shifter down or up does it want to move?

He isn't working on a 200x, he's working on his 200s. So its the standard shifting pattern.

Get the rear end freed up first, or remove the chain so you can actually tell what the engine is doing and not hurt anything else. All the way up is Neutral, look at the neutral indicator, is it pointing at Neutral?

I figured it out the shifter was slipping . Now it will idol give it slow and steady gas it runs fine but rev it up a few times it dies?

Make sure the carb is getting enough gas . May still have plugged up tank not delivering enough fuel and you suck all the fuel the carb has and the tank can't keep up. Hope that helps

the clutch is probably too tight on the 200x
