We had just the plain old "dumb phone" type, now we have the Samsung Galaxy 4. All I can say is WOW!!! It's gonna take me a month to figure all the stuff out. We love them already. We used to have Sprint, but switched to Verizon. Apparently Sprint shut down their Nextel stuff and shut down complete towers. They have been *cough* "upgrading" for 3 friggin weeks, so we had little to no service at our house, calls dropped in less than a minute. The wife called them and they couldn't give her any idea of when service would improve. They were supposed to be done on July 27....:wondering. Finally said screw Sprint and changed over.

We did the same thing a few months ago, but went with the 3's. I figured never having one the 3 would be just fine. I do like having the ability to look something up at any time, but I could go back to a dumb phone or no phone at all and be just fine.

Smartphones are awesome. You basically have a small computer in your pocket. Very convenient. Everything from taking notes/setting reminders to your daily wake up alarm, and pretty much anything else.

Dumb phones are more durable or cheeper WHEN you break them
I'm on my tablet now. when tied into my phone policy only 25 more a month
Both upgrades go into replacing my FLIPOUT as it breakes yearly

And worst of all most people don't consider reception any more but the cheeper older basic phones make calls wear the smartest phones can't sent a text, same carrier

My tablet has replaced my laptop as well

I like it alot already, I'm sure once I figure it all (mostly?) out, I'll like it even more.
