Alright guys, so i was invited by a friend i met on here hatc200x1 who happens to live only about an hour away from me to flat track race with him and his friends. We were thinking about smaller cc wheelers to race with, since it would be a little bit different. What wheeler do you think would be all around best for this? Since theyre all hard-tails, and none of them actually have any suspension at all, it wont matter, because there wont be any jumps, just straights, and corners. Im thinking a YTM 125, because its a 2-stroke, and they are pretty quick, but i dont like 2-strokes. maybe a 110? or a 125? What do you guys think?:wondering

Yup, were just in the planning stages currently but after harvest im going to do some layout for a little flat track on my property. I can use a lot of our farm equipment for track building. (we have an old d8 caterpillar dozer but I need to learn how to use that yet, I can readily use our loader, scraper, drags.) It would be fun to just stay on the under 125 cc because for people around here there WAY easier to find, thinkin maybe I could get a good group of my high school friends/ forum friends around where I live to get some stuff, started, get my friends from school hooked on the cheaper trikes and then maybe when there ready to start spending money on bigger trikes, we can start bumping up the track sizes and cc's.

Earlier this summer I tried to find some MX for Minnesotans on trikes. I put an ad on craigslist and got about 18 riders that would like to race 3 wheelers in some mx from craigslist alone, at this point idk where to go because I talked to some of the head of AMA/D23 for Minnesota and they didnt think it was a bad idea BUT the track owners were not wanting to take the risk because there insurance does not cover it and they had no clue what insurance company would cover it.

But I thought I could get some flat tracking going on my property in the mean time.

Ok. I have been up here for two years and can't find any where to ride except for ditches and gravel roads.

Sounds good. I work nights and only get every other weekend off. Also I need to get my 125m dialed in. I wish I had all my bikes up here but I live with what I got. Just let me know when you go riding.

We probably wont have anything till next summer,( people still need to get some small trikes set up) and I gotta build it, but ill hope to get a lot of it done this fall.

That's fine with me as I'm still working on my 90/110 project and the 125m is going back factory as its an 87.

Good deal, I will be building a flat tracker trike this fall, debating on early Honda 110, a KLT 110, and a YTM 125. I can get all really cheap. so idk... I found a decent KLT 110 nearby for 100 dollars that needs some work, and I like the idea of front suspension and the craddled frame and upright motor, and I like the idea of a Honda 110 because of the aftermarket availability, and I like the idea of a YTM 125 because its 2 stroke, i can get a YTM 125 locally for 20 dollars, needs an engine rebuild though. I might as well build them ALL eventually haha!

That's the thing about three wheelers I want them all. Haha. I have bought ones that I know I shouldn't but they were cheap and I was getting the itch. The klt110s are cool and will climb anything but are hart to find parts for. The Honda's are great, run forever and have great parts availability like you said. I got my eye on a aftermarket rear axle for mine right now.

We do have a hickup though, my dad does not want to take liability, so im going to have to get some serious waivers for people to sign so theres no way that people can sue if injured.

I'd be willing to sign the waiver. I pay for my health insurance for a reason hahahaha!

Fine with me. If I get injured it will be my fault and no one else's.

You can not sign away your rights.

FACT - waivers do not make you immune from liability if one gets hurt at an event you put on.

You can not sign away your rights.Barnett is rite. Its not so much the rider suing its the family members of racers. It happened around here where I live a guy was racing drags at an event ,flipped his banshee blew out his back and his family sued even though he signed a waiver.
