Now that is what I call vocabulary words :D.

Give him a small engine to tear apart, that is how I started working on engines etc, a nice pulled from the scrap pile 3.5hp lawn mower engine. Did it solo, no help, and after 2-3 engines I figured it out enough to make one out of the 3 lol.

My cousin's boy showed interest in mechanics at a young age, so they let him loose on small engines and now at 17 he tore apart a non running 7.3 powerstroke. He managed to get a good running 1996 F350 out of what I thought was too piles of junk.
