Just got a '84 200x from my uncle that had been sitting for a few years after a complete rebuild. The 2 rear tire are shot! The rear tire size is 22x11.00-8. Now does that mean I have to put that exact size back on with the rims that are on the 200x, or can I still use the same rims and get a different size tire? Thanks in advance for the help!! :beer

As long as the tire is for a 8 inch rim it shouldn't matter what size tire You put on it

Any size should do just remember to keep a couple things in mind, Width and when you get a smaller tire (lets say 18") that your also reducing your ground clearance.
With the width i believe you have some wiggle room. Not sure how much, im sure someone would know.

i've run anything from a 8-12 inch wide tire. i like staying in the 10 range. anything smaller is hard to mount wider is overkill but i like my trike to slide.i currently have 3 sets ready to go. 18x 12 fast trackers on 9 inch with 3x 5 offset. awesome to slide and grip and quickest set. then 20x10x8 super turf tires (lawn mower tires) that are good for flat track and general riding with some sliding. then if it gets ruff i have 22x11 mud lights with no off set that is strictly for trail/ woods riding great grip and no slide. i run a 13/38 gears but i just ordered 12/40 so i can spin the smaller tires faster on the flat track. there is really no good answer to your question. what do you intend to do with the tire and gears/build will determin the best tire for you

x2 what ghost said. I'm running 18 golf kart tires (great for drifting =) ) and i'm quite certain my brake rotor or chain smacked the ground today doing some trail riding. Also remember that skinnier tires means more tippy. Just curious.. where on earth did you have a 38 for your 200x?? haha i've searched and never found one.. maybe i was in the wrong area of ebay.. =/

Thanks for the great info guys. I just ordered 2 brand new tires off of ebay. They are DEESTONE 22x11x8 4ply tubeless knobby tires. I think they will suit me well for giving my kids rides around the yard. I would take it trail riding, but I don't know anyone in the area that has an atv/atc to ride with. Are these good tires? I got them for $109.00, and that included shipping! Thanks! :beer

I think that's a pretty good deal you got. Let me know how they ride then. I forget what ply the OEM tires were. For some reason I think only 2 ply. Could be wrong.

Is 4ply better than 2 ply? I wasn't really sure of the difference. Thanks for the help!

It means it's thicker.

$109 shipped is a great deal!

I like dimple knobbies. My red 200X had a set with the Titan brand on them.
