lt250s problems

i got a 1989 Suzuki lt250s not long ago for dirt cheap..Took her out today and after one kick the kickstarter is now stuck up and wont budge. I can push start it and it runs just fine. Any ideas?

I'd have to go through my manual at the kicker assy to get a better idea of how it is assembled. May be that there is a broken or stripped gear in there that has it bound. Or, play in a bearing or shaft that made the gears jump and they are clashed together.

I've had that happen with the gears in the case being misaligned.
The kicker is relatively simple to figure out to alighn it, but you need to pull off the side case to get to it.
with the side case off you will also know if it's a broken gear.

nice tip for these sideways kick starters is to put a piece of hose on the kick lever (where your foot would be) it helps cousin the blow when you hit the footpeg
