The ol' front tire is to wide trick? Usually the culprit with fork damage like that.

exactly what it was. previous owner did that for me. oh well. I was going to put a 200x front end on it but I'll wait for a bit. got a good deal on the whole setup off another 250sx

it squeaked over bumps is all. I was pretty surprised it wasn't seized all together after I diasembled it.
