so I backed up my laptop onto an external harddrive.
cool.
win xp.
then it said to insert a floppy disk.
well, this laptop only has a cd/dvd thingie.
I know there's a way to change the boot sequence but seems like the xp
backup wants a floppy disk to boot after a crash with no option to make a boot disk
on a cd.
but also guessing I could boot from a cd but not as part of the xp recovery sequence.

on a side note, why am I getting popups on the left for chinese parts?
a flowpalyer video comes screaming on and a chat bar at the bottom and they all respawn when I click to close.

Time to fool with trikes and quit this psychogeeking.
Weather is perfect for the next week.
Fill 'em all with non etoh and stabil or seafoam....gas cans too.

Yea I know what you mean. I had it happen on another website and I was using Firefox for like a year and then that happened. Try google chrome, it has some very handy features.

Pop ups miraculously disappeared.

Anyway, back to my original problem.
After I backed up the hard drive on an external, XP told me to insert a floppy disk.
This dell latitude laptop only has a cd dvd.
I think I can change the boot sequence to boot off the cd drive
but no way to make a boot cd with the standard XP backup / recovery.

Do I need to find an external floppy drive?

Thanks all.
