I have a 84 Tecate I bought in a box last year with a 86 Big Red in the same condition. The Tecate came with three motors, as I started to assemble the trike I found it was missing the CDI box. I ordered a used unit from ebay. When I attempted to install the CDI I found the connectors were different.
As I searched the web for answers I discovered 3Wheeler World. I also found that the motor on my Tecate was from a 84 KX motorcycle. And the stator connector is different. Only one wire is the same color on both harnesses, so I don't know how to make a jumper.
My local shop don't have any info for the 84 KX 250. Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the bike?
Also are all motors with KH*KX250 stamped below the head only from motorcycles, or were they included in the Tecate also?
