I just ran across this.

Is it legit or is it a conversion? I'm thinking conversion but it looks way too good. I can't find any information on it. I've heard of TRX 200X's...is that what this is with the wrong decals?

Here's a few more shots.

This one is unrelated...

There is a little bit about this on the 3ww home page or somewhere like that. I'm leaving work right now or I'd find it and post a link.

That is legit. As I recall, after the ban, this conversion was done by Honda so as to not toss out so many complete bikes. If you look closely at the frame you can see most of the ATC frame is still there. They also used the ATC gas tanks. To my knowledge NONE were sold in the States. Sold in Mexico and South America and most that I have found claim to be 88's - 93's. I would love to have one. Try South America to find one. A member or two here actually own one. Here are some more pics I have found, 1 is of a Honda prototype that was shown in Dirtwheels as a possible 1992 or 1993 model - wish they would have gone forward with that one.

Thanks for the info guys. I must say it looks good and would be cool to have. I just hope it doesn't cost and arm and a leg to import to the states should I choose to buy one. I'm more of a trike guy but I find this quad very cool. Looks like it would be good on the trails. I know my trike is. My fear is that it wouldn't be able to hang with my buddies Raptor 700's. Otherwise I'm all for vintage stuff.

From a collectors stand point I'd love to have one as well. But to use as a rider, not so much. Compared to something like my Outlaw, its almost a little kids 4-wheeler. lol. Heck, I even consider a 300ex a kids bike. Just my opinion and I know not everyone will agree. Or maybe no one will agree. lol.

I was thinking the same, looks the same to me. I had a 250X but it was stolen about 10 years ago.

the 300ex motor makes more power...why would you go down 100cc? I'd rather have a 350x motor in it but then again you can just buy a 400ex and call it a day.

Agreed. In my opinion 400EX's are just getting to cheap to mess around with any swaps like this. I was going to sell my 400 until I saw the going prices for them, almost makes me want to buy another. lol. I see them for $1000 with all the time. I'd like $1500 out of mine which isn't happening so I'll just keep it.

yep no one wants them but smart budget riders, adding a 416 or 440 to it makes for happier times...dont need a 450 they only $500 after motors blown up anyway lol. I miss my 400 and my 440 but I only want 1 bike anymore.

A friend of mine has a early '90s TRX 250X and he seems to like it. I would like this just for a nice collectors quad and just for the small trails. Personally, I'm not one that will go out and buy a huge quad, as I don't need it here. My GF had a 400EX and loved it (they sold it) and now has a big ass Can Am and honestly it's just way too big for me. I like the small, lightweight quads and trikes.

That said, how does a 200X compared to a 250X?
