200x starting problem

my 200x just doesnt want to start. sometimes i come out in the morning and kick it once and it starts, runs for a good few minutes then dies and i cant start it back up again. i've owned this thing forever and it still has this problem. i cleaned the carb and checked the tank and it has good fuel delivery. It has spark..cause it starts sometimes, but that may be a problem? any ideas? thanks.

My guess is your valves need adjusted. I had a similar problem with hardstarts on my streetbike, i regualarly adjusted them but they were so worn out they would be out within a month. I had to rebuild the head. Only other thing I can think is the stator or cdi are bad. Get yourself a manual and check the stator output. cant really test the CDI but if you can rule out the other possibilities you will have a good idea. good luck.
