The owner is a cool guy. As far as I know though, that is a chopped up frame. I believe the maker is AWS from out San Diego way. That's only the 2nd frame by them I've ever seen in pictures. I have a stock frame by the same company. The company made 2 different frames that I know of, both pretty much atc90 dimensions. The only difference in the 2 frames, one frame was made to take a stock 90 fuel tank and fenders and the other frame had a small built in fuel tank. Super light frame made of all aluminum, weighs just a few pouds. Heck the rear bearing carrier with bearings in it may weigh more than the frame. The only advertisement for those frames that I ever saw was in a Hot VWs magazine sand issue.

Wow, that frame on ebay is super cherry, way more so than mine. I never knew of Dico selling those frames, now I have to go look through my mags. A little pricey, but pretty rare.

The guy who made this frame originally owned one of the AWS frames. I know he did not have it long before he had problems with it cracking. It's what inspired him to build this frame. He thought he could build a better aluminum frame.
