Nice one josh! Check your diff. Wish the snow would let up to get the skeg to tighten up more and quit insulating.

The only time I got my trusty rusty GMC stuck was right after the spring thaw last year. This is the only pic I have of it that day. Its setting on the frame and I was really glad I had a shovel in the bed. Took 4 hours to dig it out.

Quick question for you Canadians. What exactly is muskeg? I've seen that term a lot in mudding videos and they all in Canada, so I assume its a Canadian term, am I correct?

Ugh, brings back bad memories...we recently had my bud's Jeep Commander in a similar situation in the swamp on my farm. 4 hours later we finally had it out. I had suffered a nasty concussion/cut from a previous attempt where the jack slipped off as I was pumping it up and the 2x4 we had wedged under the back wheel popped up and clocked me in the temple. We were also in muck, so the truck wouldn't move even with 2x4's under each wheel and power to all 4 wheels...so I made the executive decision to butcher my tri-fold ramp and put one section under each back wheel, which did the trick. The good news is that Tom bought me a new ramp and we also both have motorcycle ramps now:) A final word about cuts; the more beer you drink, the more you bleed lol.

I heard that cool rigs don't get stuck.

They just get parked in odd places for an indeterminant amount of time.

I had to wait until spring to get one of my farm trucks out.
Wasn't too bad but it was dark so we left it overnight and it sank another foot.

Hey, ANYthing is better than getting hurt.

Its basicaly a swamp that has dirt/pete moss. plenty of it around where i live, thousands upon thousands of acers. It can be deciving some times, looking ok until you drive on it and get burried. sometimes not to deep, other times a "bottumless pit" that swallows up heavy duty equipment.

Muskeg can also be described as a floating carpet of vegetation on top of supersaturated peat moss. Its tricky to rideon, you dont take the same track twice. In some instances you can bounce up and down beside your machine and it will go up and down beside you not unlike a waterbed. Winter is our friend for trouble free muskeg riding.

Haha that trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro sounds dangerous. We don't have that here in Minnesota, at least my area. And I'm quite happy about it.

Yea the Skag can be a tricky ride..Big red friendly..lol i did find this year that a tri-z with paddle tires works quite well also...not so much for the guy behind tho. That is a nice bronco blown!!
