Just made my first few posts on the site and thought I would say hello! ... I have grown up in a small town in southcentral Alaska. During my younger years I would drag all sorts of 3 wheelers home and even got a few to run, the problem here is everything tends to rust away pretty bad. I have a 185s that I am currently trying to get going for a little hunting rig. I have a 200s of my dads thats rusting away that is next on my list and I hope its still salvageable as I believe it has one of the bolt on suspension kits installed. I also have most of a 1983 250r completely torn apart in the warehouse, as well as the engine and swingarm out of a 1984 250r I owned. The 84 250r was destroyed in a fire at our warehouse years ago it had the weld on 4 wheeler kit, so it wasn't really a trike but it was a lot of fun. My goal in life is to someday own a pristine 350x :beer.. Anyways this is a great forum and I think you will be seeing me on here quite a bit.

Welcome to the forums. Most of the suspension kits for the hardtails go for a pretty penny. Feel free to get some pictures up, everyone here loves pics.

How come things rust out so bad there? Do you keep them under cover?

I'm right on the coast here, saltwater is in the air and the average annual rainfall is 90 in. The 185 I have was a few years back a pretty rare "barn find" an older man stored it in his warehouse for a number of years. Most of the old trikes around here have been thrown in the back yard long ago making way for newer 4wheelers and snowmachines... Everyone buys the newer more reliable wheelers here in rural Alaska... The town I live in has a population of about 2,300 people in the winter and is only accessible by boat or plane..

If I could only visit only one state in America it would be Alaska, even the name sounds good!
