Hey guys just thought I would pick you brains since I'm lost on this one lol. I've got the options. I had to scrap the 76 I bought. False advertising at its finest. But now I'm looking at a wagoneer and the k20 both about the same shape both run and drive with about the same amount of miles and about the same rubber. Wagoneer is 1g and the k20 is 1.4g. The wagoneer has that quadatrac 4X4 and a 360 in it and automatic. The k20 has a 454 4 speed 4X4 with part time. It also has a Dana 60 on the front with disk brakes. I'm going to look at the truck tomarrow. Guy with the jeep lives 3.5hrs away but said he'd deliver it. Idk which way to go. The guy with the jeep is being very honest and giving it a tune up tomarrow. I love input on these! Mpg don't really bother me. Would be used as a daily driver and a hunting rig.

I love the K20's and that DANA 60 is one tough axle.

On a side note; For those that didn't know, the Toyota FJ?? Landcruiser axles were the equivalent to a Dana 60 which can run 44" tires!!

Haha! I love the k series myself but the owner just emailed me saying a guy is coming to look at it at 9am I told him 4 days ago that I'm on nights and won't make it till noon and I was bringing cash. Frustrates a guy ya know? The guy with the wagoneer is more then willing to work with me. We will see in the am pictures for sure tomorrow afternoon!

The Wagoneers are tanks. Low range was an option and it's a little lever on the side of the trans tunnel almost under the drivers feet. Check the frame by the gas tank as they like to rot out there from crap getting caught between the tank and frame. If it has more than 100k plan on doing a timing chain in the 360. Make sure it has good oil pressure hot or else you will be replacing the front cover and oil pump. The pump is in the front cover if you didn't know. I'd take the Jeep over the K20 but that's just because I love those old waggys.

Can't go wrong either way lol. But the interior of that Jeep is unrivaled even today. At least your comfy no matter what else is going on. Cuz either way, you're probably gonna be tinkering on either one. Good luck!

If I remember my GM 4x4s, the K20 you described = big block, big muncie 465, 205 gear driven transfer case, and Dana 60 axles?

That's the hands down winner to me...

I agree with jb on this one. I'm surprised the Jeep isn't rotted out?

You're gonna have rust issues no matter which way you go. The Wagoneer is a classic and a beautiful truck, but parts are way more difficult to find. The K is built tougher, has power to spare, and there are so many cheap and readily available parts for the 454 and rock crusher. That Dana is a beast too. Just make sure you see it in the daytime, drive it, and give it a thorough inspection. I've been ripped off a few times, so I'm always cautious.

Parts for the wagoner are easy to find. Check out ifsja.org. Get the wagoneer

Well I ended up buying the wagoneer I'll get some pics up tomorrow. Runs and drives fine. No heat though thinking blower motor is toast or just a fuse lol. I didn't get any time to trouble shoot. Drove it home and had to go to work. The guy with the truck was being a tool. We talked on the phone and agreed on a price went there and he decided it was worth more because someone offered him more. I didn't say a anything got in my truck and left. Lol for a daily driver this winter the jeep is a better choice. That truck would be winding out at 60mph.

181215181216181217181218181219 Well here she is aint to purty but will get the job done. Once the small issues rae figured out. I don't have any taillights of any sort. They wired them to toggle switches. I unhooked that and hooked factory wiring back up and no taillights. Ugh. I hate hacked up wiring jobs.
