Two options:

Replace the stock shock with a Works shock

Send your shock to Evan and have him rebuild it and polish it up

ive got an 85/86 front end up at Suspension101 for rebuild right now. just picked up my rebuilt vintage WORKS shock this week and had my 86R shock rebuilt just days before the last race at Cahuilla. George is THE MAN!

Nice build you got going smx211! Like the custom air box too! Just starting a build of my own. I know this post is a little late but just joined 3WW a day ago.

yeah, the works shocks with separate reb and comp damping START at around $800.00. Unless you are a pro riding rough motocross tracks, you might not be able to tell the diff between a rebuilt orig and a works or similar brand. you can get stiffer springs to fit the orig shock also if needed. if you have or are going to install an extended swing arm, the rebuilder will need to know this in addition to the std questions.

you can get suspension 101 to do it for reasonably cheap as long as the rod isnt pitted. I think George did mine for about 400 but that included shipping, a new spring, revalved, rebuild and recharge, and the purchase price of another shock from ebay to use for parts since the shock i sent in was pitted. He does them cheaper if your not going crazy with it. give him a call for a quote
