Hey all, new (old ) trike owner from the CT. Valley area here... just got my first trike, a Yamaha 225 (DX?) I was told its an 86 DXN but I'm not sure what it is...lol I am in the the process of fixing it up to hopefully ride this winter in the snow but...lol its gonna be a stretch if anything. Its got its issues, run but stalls and wont start for a few hours, a bent fork, two tires leak air, bent to hell handlebar, plastics are kinda ruff but usable, seat has seen better days, other than that it should work. Luckily it came with an extra frame, one fork, front tire on a rim, swing arm / rear end, seized motor, gas tank, head lite, seat, some wires and cables...lol and a decent set of handle bars i just painted yellow!
This is my first trike, i have always wanted one but never had the chance, although I have owned a few motorcycles growing up, starting with a
Honda Z 50-A way back in 1974 or 75... Then a Honda XL-75, Suzuki TM 125, Kawasaki 175, Yamaha YZ 250, a Mud Bug (Sorta trike-ish) lol... S I'm glad I found this site with its wealth of expert info and help, its sure to make this trike thing a fun, and learning experience for this old dog.
