Could someone explain to me how the idle speed mixture screw works on an '85 200x? I just rebuilt the entire engine from the ground up and rebuilt the carb also, it runs great but at idle the engine kinda revs up on its own regardless of what I have the idle speed set at. Thought it might have something to do with the idle mixture screw. Thanks in advance

Not real sure but if it's like the old trail 90 carbs, there is a 'w' clip that holds the main needle down into the carb piston.
I had one that flipped over and the big needle would settle wherever it wanted.
If it wasn't below zero, I'd go look at a 180/200 carb.
do you have a
service manual
?

Maybe an air leak at the carb to head

Is the throttle cable/slide loose and free, I had one bind on me (depending on the handbars position) and would high rev at times. No adjustment to the idle screw would work. Just a thought.
