New to the site, not new to 3 wheelers. I just picked up a decent 1986 Yamaha YTM225DRS for $425. One owner, came with original paperwork, title, and owners manual. Needs a battery, tires(still originals), starter and new solenoid. Previous owner welded up a broken exhaust header pipe which is not leaking.
Can't wait to dig in and get my hands dirty. This is the first Yamaha I've owned. Years ago I had (3) ACT 200X's and a Suzuki Quad Sport.
Look forward to all the info on this site.

Nope, I head north if I want to ride. Except if you have an atc70. We do some yard racing with them!

I figured I'd ask even though I already kinda knew the answer. My father in law has some farm land over near Hershey. My trike will probably see a lot of action over there.

Im glad i live in a town where most of us can go out our backyard, ride down a street and hit a trail and ride for endless miles in any direction. Surrounded by mountains.
Anywho, welcome to the forums. The DR is a nice little machine.

I miss not having the open space to ride like I did growing up. Ghost, where was the pic in your signature taken? Reminds me of when we would ride around Tower City

That is an overlook of the town of Shamokin, in Northumberland county. Another member asked me the same question before and thought it was the same town. I think tower city may only be like 45 minutes away. I'd have to look.

Seems to be a decent group of us within an hour or 2 from each other, would be cool to get together for a ride sometime. South central PA here.

I think I heard Tower City riding areas are now shut down except for an area set up for ATV's and 4x4 trucks. You have to be a club member and pay a yearly membership fee and sign some legal waivers.
When I was in High School in the 80's we would load up all the neighborhood wheeler and head up to Tower City. We could ride all day and not take the same trail twice. Loved the coal dust sand dunes!

I do not own a lot of big bad performance machines, mainly old hardtails and i just go for nice scenic rides. Of course i still have fun, but you get the idea. So i tend to ride alone. Plus nobody here has trikes. It always turns heads. If you are wondering i live in Shamokin. But they are building an ATV park 5 minutes away, 6,500+ acres but not finished. Its planned to open in early 2014, once it is opened i plan on getting a nice get-together if they allow it. It might be $20 for a temporary 1 day pass. Suppose to have camping too so it should be worth it. We will see though.

Something to check out for the future. I will let you know if it is trike friendly in the future as it is the only thing i own.
Maybe by then i will own a nice 250r or 350x.
Also i wrote up a thread a while back if you feel like checking out it. Search the full name of AOAA.

Thanks for the info on the new riding site. My parents live near Hershey, PA and my Father in Law lives near Fort Indiantown Gap. He still has some farm land I will be able to ride on when there is no crops planted.(late Fall and Winter). I need some time to get the 225DRS sorted out anyway.

Tioga county here. Woke up to a foot of snow this morning and the strikes don't want any more than that. Had a ball yesterday rode till 11 and hit every backroad and main road as didn't plow. The snow is fluffy and the drifts are big. Hitting them with the headlights on was cool as the snow would fly over the front end. Went through 12 gal of gas from 6 last night to 4 tonite between 3 trikes.
