View Full Version : Got two quads for cheap!

A coworker sold me a 1999 Kawasaki Prairie 400 and a Kawasaki Bayou 220 for $150. I rebuilt the fuel peacock, carburetor, changed the swing arm bearings and have been riding the Prairie ever since. The Bayou runs but needs a top end rebuild and a few other parts but still was a good buy for $50. I only have pics of the Prairie right now but will try to get one of the Bayou today.

Cheap? Thats a steal! Cant go wrong for that price. I cant even get trikes for that cheap. Congrats, awesome buy.

Heck of a deal! I'm surprised the bayou needs a top end, them things are bulletproof.

Thanks guys! I am keeping the Prairie, it is a fine machine and impressed me enough to sell the Honda Fourtrax 300 I had. The suspension is really plush, engine makes good power and the automatic transmission is nice. The Bayou had a sock for an air filter, so that is mostly why the top end is bad.

I got a new set of tires & wheels for my Prairie, I went with 25" Maxxis Zilla tires and ITP SS108 wheels. These are some really good tires, they are light and pull great in the mud.

Thanks! The Bayou isn't quite picture worthy. LOL It needs a top end rebuild and new front fenders. I need to get started on it soon, now that it's nice and warm outside.
